ABDOMINOPLASTY (Tummy Tuck)

An Abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure that extracts fat and tissue from the Abdominal Region. This procedure is beneficial to people who have had massive weight loss, frequent weight fluctuations, or pregnancies. Men who retain excess weight in the midsection may also benefit from an Abdominoplasty. Patients can expect a flatter, shapelier tummy and an enhanced waistline.

SURGERY

Dr. Wayment uses a High Lateral Tension technique. This type of Abdominoplasty rejuvenates the abdomen, lower trunk and upper thighs while allowing Liposuction of the Abdomen and waistline. A Full Abdominoplasty begins with an incision slightly above the pubic bone that extends between the hipbones. Patients will be asked to bring a bathing suit/panties so Dr. Wayment can completely hide the incision. The skin is separated from the muscles and the excess is extracted from the Abdominal Region. The Abdominal Muscles are tightened from the sternum to the pubic bone. Liposuction is performed on the abdomen and waist. The belly button is brought up to a new site. Two to three drains are placed in the pubic region. The surgery usually lasts three to four hours and is performed on an outpatient basis.

AFTER SURGERY

Immediately following surgery, tape is applied to the incision. Drains are placed to collect any excess fluid. They are removed once drainage has subsided (usually five to seven days). A compression garment is applied and worn for six weeks. Sutures will be removed in seven to fourteen days following the procedure. Activities are modified for six weeks.

PARTIAL ABDOMINOPLASTY (Mini-Tummy Tuck)

A smaller incision is made slightly above the pubic bone. The belly button is left in place. The flap of skin is pulled down and excess fat and tissue are removed. Then, the skin is sutured back in place. Liposuction is performed on the abdomen and waist.

LIPOSUCTION

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes unwanted fatty tissue from the body.

SURGERY

Dr. Wayment begins by inserting a Cannula through a small incision near the area to be contoured. The Cannula removes unwanted fatty tissue. After the surgeon achieves optimal results, the tiny incisions are sutured. Surgery length will vary depending on the amount of Liposuction. The surgery is performed on an outpatient basis.

AFTER SURGERY

A compression garment is applied and worn for six weeks after surgery. This helps keep the skin in place and reduce swelling. Sutures are removed within seven to ten days. Activities are modified for six weeks.

BRACHIOPLASTY (Arm Lift)

Brachioplasty is a procedure that reshapes the under portion of the upper arm, from the armpit to the elbow.

SURGERY

An incision is made. Incision length depends on the amount of excess fat and skin to be removed, but may extend from the underarm to just above the elbow. Excess fat and skin are removed. Liposuction may be performed to contour the arm. The incision is closed with sutures. Surgery length is approximately two and a half to three hours. This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis.

AFTER SURGERY

Incisions are covered with tape. Compression garments are applied to the arms and worn for six weeks. Sutures are self absorbing and do not need to be removed. Activities are modified for six weeks.

BELT LIPECTOMY (Total Body Lift)

A Total Body Lift is for someone who has undergone massive weight loss, but retains excess skin that sags. The skin is tightened and lifted to result in a more positive self image. Various combinations of plastic surgery may be done to achieve optimal results. Each patient has very individual needs, and can make an appointment with Dr. Wayment for further recommendations. MEDIAL/LATERAL THIGH LIFT

A Medial and/or Lateral Thigh Lift may be performed to remove excess skin from the inner and/or outer thighs. A Lateral Thigh Lift uses incisions which extend from the hips to the back to remove excess skin on the outer thighs and lift the buttocks. A Medial Thigh Lift raises the inner thigh by making an incision in the groin and removing excess skin. These may be performed together or with other procedures. Liposuction may also be performed. Please contact our office for more information.

LABIAPLASTY

A Labiaplasty is performed to correct enlarged or irregular Labia (external folds of skin surrounding the Vagina). Many women are born with large or irregular Labia. Others develop as a result of childbirth or aging. Women with irritated and painful labia will often find relief after surgery as well as enhance the cosmetic appearance.
